About Dr. Shu

Steven Shu, M.D., MBA, MS, is an Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at the University of Minnesota. He is also on the medical staff at Southdale Hospital and North memorial Hospital.

Dr. Shu is a board certified family physician with broad medical knowledge and clinical experience who provides a wide range of services above and beyond the typical family medicine office. He is also a unique physician who is especially interested in outpatient procedures and practice management. He is one of few family physicians in the US who can do numerous office procedures.

Dr. Shu has been actively involved in teaching residents in family medicine and office procedures for years, and he is an assistant professor and serves as a part-time faculty member at the University of Minnesota.

Dr. Shu is a community activist who vigorously advocates for community services. He was the founder and the first president of the Minnesota Chinese Physician Association (AMCP) and is a current honorary president. He led AMCP members and community volunteers to establish a free clinic-Minnesota Chinese Health Center for needy Chinese in 2004. He is a publisher and president of MN Duowei Times, the largest Chinese newspaper in Minnesota.
